For those members interested in member-owned electric power generation, we appreciate the opportunity to work with you. To assist our members, we have developed a streamlined process for safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective interconnection of small renewable energy systems.

Interested in Another Solar Project?

The Board of Directors is currently gauging interest in a second Community Solar Project.  Details of the Phase II solar project have not been finalized and the final price has not been determined.  The second phase would be designed similarly to the first Community Solar Array we built in the spring of 2017.  See the details of that project and proposed project

Coop Connections Card

The Crow Wing Power member benefit program has given our members discounts at local participating businesses since 2001 and has since expanded nationally when Touchstone Energy adopted it for cooperatives throughout the country.  The program is now offered to Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, a nationwide alliance of more than 740 electric cooperatives, like Crow Wing Power.

Planting Pollinator Gardens

Crow Wing Power has prepared four substations in Crow Wing County for planting pollinator seeds to create habitat for butterflies and bees.  We’ve historically had grass growing around all of our substations, but decided the substations would provide excellent locations for pollinator perennial plants.  In the past few years, we’ve all read about the nearly extinct Minnesota native Rusty Patch bumble bee.  And, that help is needed to provide food for Monarchs and other butterflies.

Long Time Board Member Passes Away

We received the sad news recently that our long-time Board Member and friend, Ken Miller, passed away on Wednesday, August 30.  Ken was a dedicated Board Director for 32 years, longer than any of the current Directors, so we all knew him well.
