2016 Member Appreciation/Annual Meeting A Success!
On Saturday, we had approximately 1,800 members attended our Member Appreciation.
It was a beautiful morning with plenty of activities, demonstrations, food and fun!
Not to mention prizes!
We also conducted our Annual Meeting, tallied ballots and announced results. A total of 5003 ballots were cast in this year’s Board of Directors election, with the following results.
- In District 1 B, Doris Mezzenga was elected with 1,812 votes to fill a vacant seat made available by the retirement of long-time Board member Kay Blais. Kay had been on the Board for 28 years; Robert Ringwelski got 1,264; Phyllis Eck received 1,245 votes; and Terry Usherwood received 579 votes.
- Incumbent Gordon Martin ran unopposed in District 2A and received 4,463 votes.
- In District 2 At-Large LuAnn Nelson was elected with 1,598 votes to fill a two-year term left vacant by the resignation of Board member Lois Hansen; Bob Olson received 956 votes; Russ Nygren had 844 votes; Wendell King got 743 votes and Alan Swanson received 730 votes..
- In District 3 At-Large, Paul Koering was elected with 1,164 votes to fill a vacant seat made available by the retirement of long-time Board member Don O’Brien. Don had been on the Board for 24 years. Other candidates received the following number of votes: Michael O’Brien received 1,125; Bruce Rosine got 1,115; Darrel Palmer had 992; and John Brutcher received 465 votes.
